Side projects outperform courses because they provide unstructured problems — exactly what real work consists of. Choose a project at the intersection of: uses the skill you’re building, solves a real problem, and is at the edge of your current ability. Target 4–8 weeks to ship. Document what you’re building and why as you go — publish on LinkedIn or a blog. This reinforces learning, builds an audience, and demonstrates your thinking to anyone who might hire or work with you. Set a hard deadline, define a minimum viable version, and ship on that date regardless of how it feels. Then seek critique from people in the domain.
