What this is

Cloud Security Fundamentals explains who is responsible for what in the cloud and how to apply sound controls: identity and access, network segmentation, encryption, logging, configuration management and incident response. Examples cover common misconfigurations and the steps teams take to prevent them.

It is a vendor-neutral foundation, not preparation for a specific vendor’s exam, and it awards no certification. It does not promise a security role and cannot guarantee that any environment is secure.

What you will be able to do

  • Explain the shared responsibility model for different cloud service types
  • Apply least-privilege identity and access controls
  • Protect data with encryption and key management
  • Set up logging and detection for cloud accounts
  • Recognise and fix common cloud misconfigurations
